Improving health for the poor

A medical clinic has been set up in the heart of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. A fully qualified and experienced GP has been appointed, and a full-time manager has been assigned to manage the clinic and maintain the dispensary. The purpose of the clinic is to give free medical advice and treatment to the poor who cannot afford basic healthcare.

Aware of the common health problems existing in Bahawalpur, the clinic stocks up on regular medical supplies and provides the medication free to patients. Shahnam also maintains the costs and procedures for minor and major operations.

This medical service is on-going; ten hours a day six days a week. Poor people living remotely have come to know about the clinic, and have travelled long distances to eradicate their health problems. With more patients requiring basic health care, more donations are needed to support Shahnam continue its work.
